Joint Statement on Dental Specialty Examinations

The current COVID-19 situation presents an on-going crisis which is impacting on many aspects of life.
In response to the emerging pandemic, the Surgical Royal Colleges cancelled all examinations in March 2020 until further notice.
Whilst the Surgical Royal Colleges were hopeful that it may be possible to conduct assessments remotely a detailed review, including consideration of the current circumstances, has concluded that it would not be appropriate to offer assessments at this time.
Please be assured that we are committed to supporting trainees to complete their training at the earliest opportunity. Our intention is, therefore, to conduct the Autumn diets of our examinations as planned but we will continue to review the situation on a regular basis and update you accordingly.
We strongly urge you to discuss this and any potential implications with your Training Programme Director or Postgraduate Dental Dean.
