RCSEd MRCS OSCE Examinations Mark Nearly Three Decades in Chennai, India

Published: 5 August 2026

The MRCS OSCE examinations took place in Chennai, India, from 10–12 July 2026, marking another highly successful examination diet. Chennai has been a centre for Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) examinations since 1998, providing nearly three decades of support for surgical assessment and training. The examinations were hosted locally by Council member Professor Sai Krishna Vittal and SASL Committee member Professor Sandeep Murali. The examining team included RCSEd President Professor Clare-Ellen McNaught and Vice Presidents Professor Angus Watson and Professor Robin Paton. They were supported by supervising examiners Stuart Clark, Doug McWhinnie and Simon Middleton, while Kirsten Anderson, Rhonda Greig and Megan Gardner represented the College’s Surgical Examinations team, ensuring smooth delivery. The continued success of the Chennai diet reflects the strength of the long-standing partnership between RCSEd and its colleagues in India.
