Advancing Rural, Remote and Humanitarian Healthcare

Published: 26 June 2026

RCSEd Vice President, Professor Angus Watson, was pleased to host a roundtable meeting with key local humanitarian organisations at MERCY Malaysia during his June 2026 visit to Kuala Lumpur. The recent publication of the Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH) Capabilities Framework provided an opportunity to share the Framework with stakeholders and encourage discussions on its potential application within local healthcare and humanitarian settings.

The meeting brought together representatives from MERCY Malaysia, MyCARE and IMARET, as well as healthcare professionals with experience in rural and humanitarian medicine, generating valuable dialogue on how such initiatives could support NGOs working in challenging environments.
