The post of Chair of the Joint Specialty Fellowship Group (JSF) has existed within the College for eight years and has evolved over time to meet the requirements of the College.

These activities are conducted through the Examinations, Education and Faculties Directorate with the Dean of Examinations and the Vice President for Learning and Assessment and The Vice President for Quality and Standards providing support. The Education Development team, specifically through the JSF Coordinator, provide the support and administration of the Committee plus the development work for each specialty. The Surgical Examinations Department provides the operational capacity for delivery of these activities, which are currently held in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia in nine of the SAC defined surgical specialties.

The College has gradually grown these international activities and the incoming postholder will be expected to continue to drive these activities following the key element strategy.

The appointment shall be made following a suitably shortlisting and panel interview process and will be subject to ratification.
