RCSEd is delighted to invite eligible SASL doctors, in the specialities listed below, to apply to join the College’s SASL Committee and work as a representative of SAS/LED grades on our Surgical Specialty Boards.

This exciting opportunity provides a chance for individuals to contribute to the College’s mission, and create transformative change to the support, professional development and advocacy of SASL doctors; a vital and growing component of the surgical workforce, as part of the College’s SAS/L Committee. Furthermore, as a representative of SASL doctors on RCSEd’s Surgical Specialty Boards, this opportunity will provide the successful applicants with the chance to embed SAS/L doctors into the College’s work, education and examination outputs. The successful applicant will be required to attend, in a hybrid format, five meetings per year and dedicate time to championing SASL doctors and their surgical specialty in line with the College’s strategy.
Applicants should be Members or Fellows of the College in Good Standing, and working as LED/SAS Doctors.
This role is unremunerated but reasonable expenses for travel and subsistence will be reimbursed on production of receipts and appropriate claim forms. As with all travel on College business, Committee Members will be expected to travel in accordance with the College Travel Policy. The tenure for successful applicants is 3 years in the first instance.
