Dental Council Election Results Announced

Mr Aman Ulhaq is a Consultant Orthodontist at York Hospital with a specialist interest in multidisciplinary orthodontic care, including orthognathic surgery, hypodontia, and the management of impacted teeth. He is actively involved in postgraduate education and teaching, research, and examining for the RCSEd, serving as an examiner for the MFDS, Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy, and MOrth examinations in the UK and internationally. Aman is also a member of the MFDS Advisory Board and previously served as Regional Dental Adviser for South East Scotland.

He serves as Honorary Treasurer of the European Orthodontic Society since 2022.His professional interests include postgraduate education, mentorship, digital innovation, artificial intelligence in orthodontics, and maintaining excellence in specialist training and assessment.

Mr Baldwin is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Manchester since 2003, with specialist interests in head and neck cancer with reconstructive surgery.

Within his NHS Trust, he has held clinical managerial roles as Lead for the Head and Neck oncology service, Clinical Director for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and, more recently, Divisional Clinical Director for Surgery. Previously, he was an elected member on the Council of British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

At The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, he is an examiner for MFDS and MOMS, acts an assessor for several Dental Faculty exams and has chaired the Surgical Specialty Board for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Mr Baldwin has a keen interest in medical education and training at postgraduate and undergraduate level, and has lectured both nationally and internationally, with several peer-reviewed publications.

Mrs Claire Morgan has been a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry for over 20 years. Her main clinical role involves the provision of Restorative Dental Care for Head and Neck Cancer patients. She also has a background in Sedation and Special Care Dentistry. She maintains a keen interest in PG education as an experienced Educational Supervisor; as a former ISFE Examiner for eight years, she led in Management for the latter three. Claire views Patient Safety as a priority which she promotes through the Royal College's Patient Safety Committee where she acts as Chair. She is a qualified Patient Safety Specialist, a position held in her Trust at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health; and acts as the Patient Safety Officer for the Association of Dental Hospitals.
