New Members and Fellows Welcomed at November Diploma Ceremony

The College is delighted to host our new Members and Fellows at our final Diploma Ceremony of 2019 on Friday 15 November. With a Membership that spans the globe we offer our congratulations to the diverse range of Diplomates accepting their awards today and to their friends and family who are here to celebrate with them.
We are also pleased to welcome a number of eminent guests who are receiving special awards from the College in recognition of the outstanding work they have done promoting patient safety in their respective fields.
Those honoured on the day include Professor Elizabeth S Davenport, Emerita Professor of Dental Education, who is receiving the Faculty of Dental Surgery Medal 2019 for her significant contributions to the Dental Faculty, College and Dentistry as a whole. Professor Davenport also received the College’s King James IV Professorship in October.
Also to be honoured at the ceremony is Ms Lorraine Judge, RCSEd Courses and Educational Events Manager. Ms. Judge is receiving the Council Medal 2019 in recognition of her exemplary service to the College over many years and the fundraising contribution she has made to the College's charitable pursuits. Speaking about Ms Judge's award, Duncan McArthur, RCSEd Director of Professional Activities said:
“Lorraine exemplifies what the College is about. As a member of staff, as a manager and as an employee she gives so much and particularly with Lorraine, allows others to give so much to make this organisation what it is. With the College continuing to grow and expand, we need people like Lorraine to build the future, to set the standards of performance and behaviour and be a model for all the staff. It is with great pleasure that I commend her for the award of the College Medal.”
The eminent diplomates being awarded Fellowship Without Examination at the ceremony are:

- Mr Babu Srinivas Pedamallu FRCSEng, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, Dr Pedamallu Anjaneyulu Memorial Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Superspeciality Clinic, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India
- Dr Chee Loong Yeap, Consultant General & Upper GI Surgeon, Gleneagles, Kuala Lumpur
