RCSEd Fellows Celebrated in Queen’s New Year Honours List
Several Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh have been recognised in the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II’s 2021 New Year Honours list for their work in healthcare and the response to COVID-19.
Due to the current rise in COVID-19 infections, which has led to new lockdown restrictions and increased pressure on the health services in the UK and Ireland, the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE) and the four Surgical Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom and in Ireland have taken the difficult decision to cancel the MRCS Part B and DO-HNS Part 2 examinations that had been scheduled to take place in February 2021.
Delays with Diploma Ceremonies and Certificates
With the latest lockdown in place in the UK, we are disappointed that it will mean inevitable further delays in being able to welcome our new Members and Fellows to a diploma ceremony in Edinburgh. The new restrictions mean the College campus in Edinburgh has closed and unfortunately, this means we are unable to send out diploma certificates in the month of January.
