Surgeons’ Hall Museums receives new robotic surgical training console

The museum received a unique piece of surgical equipment from the Intuitive Foundation in the US. This robotic surgical training console has been specially adapted by Intuitive to allow members of the public to try their hand at using the same controls a surgeon uses for performing an operation. The software has been adapted so that the user can try it out and it will form a central feature in the new Body Voyager galleries. We are delighted to say the trainer plus additional instruments and artefacts were delivered this week to our Edinburgh site and we would like to thank Intuitive for their incredibly generous support.
