Non-Technical skills are part of ‘human factors’ relating to the cognitive and social skills which are used to underpin performance. In relation to healthcare, they have been shown to be key skills in supporting good clinical performance and better patient outcomes.
The Faculty of Dental Trainers, RCSEd, published a dental non-technical skills framework in 2019 – and this is now being updated. The updated framework and survey are available here. We are inviting all those interested in Dental Non-Technical training to respond to the proposed changes through this online survey being hosted by our partners the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE).
The deadline for the consultation is 1 July 2026.
