Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy (Dip. Orth Ther RCSEd)

The Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has been designed to indicate that the candidate has demonstrated that he/she has achieved the required specific learning outcomes of their Dental Care Professional (DCP) category as specified by the General Dental Council's publication Preparing for Practice - Dental team learning outcomes for registration www.gdc-uk.org 

The College wishes to increase its' Faculty of Examiners in this discipline and applications are invited from both Orthodontic Therapists and Specialist Dentists.

Examiners must be in good standing with the General Dental Council and should have been registered with the GDC for a period of not less than four years.  Orthodontic Therapists must be registered with the General Dental Council and should hold a Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy of the RCS Edinburgh or equivalent. For Dentists, the candidate needs to be on the Specialist List for Orthodontics of the General Dental Council and hold an MOrth or equivalent with the RCS Edinburgh. 

Training for all examiners in both disciplines will be provided by the College and all appointed examiners will be expected to contribute to the question bank and attend appropriate further training.
