Upper GI Surgery Careers Session

14th April 2021

Overview

The Cambridge Foundation Trainees Surgical Society and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh are delighted to present a series of virtual careers sessions on surgical subspecialties for medical students, foundation and core trainees interested in pursuing a career in surgery. Each event will explore a different surgical subspecialty, with a consultant surgeon discussing day-to-day practice within the specialty, the breadth of pathologies covered, emerging technologies and evolving techniques, rewards and challenges, as well as issues relating to work-life balance and academia.

There will also be a separate talk within each session by a trainee within the specialty, providing advice on application to the respective training programmes and hints and tips on a successful application with dedicated time for questions and answers at the end of each session.

Join us for our next careers session on Wednesday 14th April at 19:00 BST when we will be covering the exciting subspecialty of Upper GI Surgery. Our speakers include Mr John Bennett, a Consultant Upper GI surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Miss Jennifer Wheat a Senior Clinical Fellow in Upper GI surgery.
