The RCSEd Faculty of Dental Surgery Congratulates Jason Wong MBE on New Role as Chief Dental Officer for England

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Faculty of Dental Surgery congratulates Jason Wong MBE, who has been appointed as Chief Dental Officer for England by NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care.

Wong served as the Local Dental Network Chair for NHS England & NHS Improvement in the Midlands region, overseeing operations in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Northamptonshire. His extensive experience includes leadership roles such as chairing the Local Dental Network for Hertfordshire and South Midlands, the West Midlands, and serving as secretary of the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee for 16 years.

Professor Grant McIntyre, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which represents dentists across the UK and internationally, said: 

“The Faculty of Dental Surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh congratulates Jason Wong on his appointment as Chief Dental Officer. It is our hope that Jason works with dentists to address the significant gaps in NHS dentistry across England and uses the Dental Recovery Programme as a stepping stone to full reform of the system to make NHS dental care in England faster, simpler and fairer for patients and the profession.”
