Orthopaedic Surgery Careers Session

29th June 2021

Overview

The Cambridge Foundation Trainees Surgical Society and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh are delighted to present a series of virtual Careers Day talks on surgical subspecialties for medical students, foundation and core trainees interested in pursuing a career in surgery. Each event will explore a different surgical subspecialty, with a consultant surgeon discussing day-to-day practice within the specialty, the breadth of pathologies covered, emerging technologies and evolving techniques, rewards and challenges, as well as issues relating to work-life balance and academia.

There will also be a separate talk within each session by a trainee within the specialty, providing advice on application to the respective training programmes and hints and tips on a successful application with dedicated time for questions and answers at the end of each session.

Join us for our next Careers Day talk on Tuesday 29th June at 19:00 BST when we will be covering the exciting subspecialty of Orthopaedic Surgery. Our speakers include Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr. Neil Kang, and Miss Jen Barwell, Orthopaedic registrar, both at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
