Dental Core Training: What, why, where, when and how?

The webinar will cover what dental core training is and what it can offer dentists who are considering applying, including the types of dental core training roles and the differences between them.
The benefits of completing dental core training and the career progression it can offer, including application to specialty training.
The session will conclude with a question and answer session to answer any questions related to Dental Core Training and the application process.
To gain an insight into the Dental Core Training career pathway.
By the end of the session the participant should be able to understand how and when to apply for Dental Core Training and what Dental Core Training can offer their career.

Dr Rebecca Litt
BDS (Hons), MFDS RCS Edin, PGCert Med Ed Prac.
Rebecca graduated from Cardiff University before completing three years of Dental Core Training in Bristol University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Gwent Hospital. She is currently completing Orthodontic Speciality Training in Birmingham.
Dr Catherine Hershaw
BDS (Hons), MJDF.
Catherine graduated from Cardiff University and completed her Dental Foundation Training in Bristol. She then went on to complete three years of dental core training in Cardiff Dental Hospital and the Royal Gwent Hospital.
Dr Don Jayawardena
BDS (Hons), MFDS RCPS (Glas), PGCert Med Ed.
Don has most recently completed his dental core training 3 post in Restorative Dentistry at Manchester Dental Hospital. Prior to this he has completed posts in OMFS, Oral Surgery and Special Care at multiple units including Cardiff and Bristol, as well as a brief period in General Practice.
Dr Thomas Gill
BDS (Hons), MJDF, PG Cert Med Ed.
Tom graduated King’s College London and undertook dental foundation training in Poole in Dorset. He then completed two years of dental core training at University Bristol Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as an Academic Clinical Fellow. He is currently a specialist registrar and academic clinical fellow in Restorative Dentistry at Royal London Dental Hospital.
