Surgical Anatomy of the Limbs: A Study Day (MRCS Level - Wade)
This course is part of a series of three one-day courses, designed to provide a comprehensive review of the important surgical anatomy of the head and neck, trunk, and limbs, from both a theoretical and a practical perspective.
The course also provides guidance to support independent study, and will be ran online via Zoom. Please follow the link above for further information to book your place. This course is a part of the Surgical Anatomy (MRCS Level)- Wade programme series.
Suitability
Trainees at an early stage of preparation for the MRCS who are involved in detailed revision, learning a region for the first time or who wish to identify gaps in their knowledge. It is important to note that clinical medical students are also welcome to attend and that previous student attendees have found the day very helpful.
Course Format
The day will consist of a balanced mixture of overview presentations and practical demonstrations using images of cadaveric specimens and other teaching aids. Please also note the below –
- All candidates must have a MAC / PC with admin access to install Zoom
- All candidates must ensure that they have a strong and reliable internet connection to allow for video conversation.
- All candidates must have a webcam and a microphone. A microphone headset is highly recommended but not mandatory
Course Objectives
The course is designed to provide a comprehensive review of the important surgical anatomy of the limbs from both a theoretical and a practical perspective, and will also provide guidance to support independent study. This is the third in a series of three courses covering: Head & Neck; Trunk and Limbs.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course participants should be able to:
- Describe the principal features of the anatomy of the upper and lower limbs.
- Identify important structures on cadaveric specimens and the living body.
- Demonstrate a sound capacity to visualise the limbs in three dimensions.
