Surgeons Quarter

Surgeons Quarter (SQ) promotes, sells and manages all commercial activities held within the College campus. All profits support the charitable aims of the College which are education, assessment and advancement in surgery. SQ is one central destination consisting of four venues. Each venue shares its location and history with an unrivalled passion to deliver world-class service and style.

Playfair Building

This historic building, dating back to 1832, provides meeting rooms, event and break-out spaces capable of accommodating 2 to 250 delegates. Each space is steeped in history yet brimming with technology. The building also hosts the Surgeons’ Hall Museums which can be linked with the event spaces exclusively for evening events or visited during the standard opening hours.

Symposium Building

The Symposium Building (originally St Michael’s Church) features a magnificent 158-seated auditorium with Italian leather seating incorporating many of the original church features. The auditorium is supported by state-of-the-art AV facilities including an audience voting facility. A member of the AV Team supports all events in this venue. The ground floor has reception room with a built-in bar and break-out room.

Quincentenary Conference Centre

A purpose-built conference centre featuring a skills lab on the lower ground, three meeting rooms on the ground floor, as well as a large conference space known as the Wolfson Hall accommodating up to 300 delegates theatre-style on the first floor. Outside the building a spacious courtyard space with clear roof marquee is perfect for catching up with colleagues during coffee breaks.

Prince Philip Building

This building features The Deacon Suite on the first floor. This stunning space with its large sweeping dome ceiling retains many original architectural features as well as providing purpose-built audio visual equipment.  Moreover, the building benefits from ground and lower ground floor meeting rooms.
