  • Professor Jim Khan PhD, FCPS, FRCS, Professor of Surgery, University of Portsmouth. Consultant Colorectal & Robotic Surgeon. Clinical Lead Robotic Colorectal Surgery, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, UK.

  • Miss Shafaque Shaikh, MBBS, FRCS, PhD, Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with an Honorary Senior Lecturer status with the University of Aberdeen. Shafaque is the Programme Lead for the NHS Grampian Multispecilaty Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) Service and leading RAS research/evaluation and education projects. She is the chair of the Scottish RAS Research group and deputy chair of the Scottish National Clinical reference group. She did a PhD in Surgery from the University of Aberdeen and completed higher surgical training alongside NIHR clinical academic training from Yorkshire, having done a fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital prior to taking up a Consultant appointment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

  • Mr Peter Vaughan-Shaw, MBChB, PHD, MFSTEd, PgCert (Med Ed), FRCS. Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. Peter completed an Intuitive sponsored robotic colorectal fellowship at Sunderland Royal Hospital and an advanced cancer fellowship at the John Goligher Colorectal Unit, Leeds. He has been trainee representative on the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland Council and President of The Dukes’ Club 2020-2021. He has a strong interest in training, academic surgery and translational research. He has published 59 peer-reviewed articles, is author of four surgical book chapters and has been awarded an RCS Hunterian Professorship.
