RCSEd Dental Ambassadors Conference 2025 Roundup

The annual RCSEd Dental Ambassadors Conference took place online on Thursday 18 September, bringing together international speakers and attendees for a wide-ranging and engaging day of presentations.

Held via Zoom, the conference opened with talks addressing both innovative clinical techniques and the adaptations required to suit healthcare systems around the world. Highlights included presentations on preservation surgery for Mandibular Ameloblastoma by Prof Charles Sia, International Dental Advisor (IDA) Philippines; Integration of Digital Orthodontics in a Developing Setting in Cambodia by Prof Anand Marya, IDA Cambodia; Dual-stage AI systems for Tumour detection and subtyping in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Dr Chaurasia Akhilanand, IDA India; and Cleft Management in Sri Lanka by Dr Ratnakumara Dissanayake, IDA Sri Lanka.

Further presentations were delivered on Facial Asymmetry and its treatment options at Secondary Care Hospital in KP, Pakistan by Dr Tanweer Bangash, IDA Pakistan; The teaching and research hub of the Bahrain Royal Hospital Services – Crown Prince Centre for training and medical research by Dr Mohamad Al-Muharraqi, IDA Bahrain; Royal College activities in the Caribbean Region by Dr Trudee Hoyte, IDA Trinidad; and Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea by Ms Charlotte Leigh, Dental Speciality Ambassador, East Midlands.

The Dental Ambassadors Conference concluded with key updates from Verity Williams and Craig Brodie on Membership, Marketing and Communications, followed by an overview of Faculty activities delivered by Vice-Dean Will McLaughlin. Looking ahead, the 2026 Ambassador Meeting will be held alongside the Dental Triennial in October.
