Applications are invited for the new suite of diploma level examinations of RCSEd.
The College seeks to appoint examiners for our new suite of Diploma level examinations.
The examinations complement the existing Diploma in Special Care Dentistry. They are intended to be a summative assessment of applied clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills at a sub-specialist level (equivalent to Tier 2 complexity as described in the NHS England document ‘Guides for Commissioning Dental Specialties’). The examinations will be accessible to all registered dentists, with no restrictive eligibility requirements. The examinations will consist of single best answers and clinical scenario papers and examiners will be expected to contribute to the question banks.
Applications are currently invited for Examiners in:
- Dental Sedation
- Endodontics
- Paediatric Dentistry
- Periodontics
- Prosthodontics
Criteria
These examiner roles are ideally suited to early career Members and Fellows wishing to get involved in the College and to develop an active role in the development of their profession.
Training
Examiner and question writing training will be provided.
New Diploma Examinations
A further Diploma examination is currently under development, and we would welcome applications to facilitate this development from the following disciplines:
- Oral Surgery
- Oral Medicine
