Mr Stuart Clark is a full time NHS Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Central Manchester. He was elected to Council in 2016. He is actively involved in examinations, education, the Regional Advisory Network and International Medical Graduates.

Mr Nishan Fernando (MBChB, MRCS, FHEA, FFSTEd) is a Specialty Surgeon at North of Scotland Cardiothoracic Unit. He sits on the Executive Committee of the Faculty of Perioperative Care, is a Member of the SASLED Committee, and is the SAS representative on the Cardiothoracic SSB. He is an Honorary Lecturer in the University of Aberdeen where he serves as the Deputy Lead, Year 3 and the Surgical Lead, Year 4, MBChB. He a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers and of the Higher Education Academy. He is a Designated Medical Supervisor for the Non-Medical Prescribing Course, Practice Supervisor for trainee ANPs and Surgical Practitioners. He has a strong academic interest in Human Factors and is on the NOTSS Faculty. He is Scoring Panel Member at RCSEd. He is an MRCS Examiner for the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Exams (ICBSE) and is on the Assessment Panel for the University of Aberdeen MBChB.

Nicholas Fletcher is a Surgical Care Practitioner specialising in Urology, with a career spanning theatre nursing, clinical nurse specialist practice and advanced surgical care. Beginning as a scrub nurse in 2001, they progressed through urology leadership and CNS roles before qualifying as an SCP at Salford Royal Hospital in 2016, completing an MSc in Surgical Care Practice (Urology) at Edge Hill University in 2018 and a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification at the University of Salford in 2021.

In 2021 they had the honour of becoming the inaugural Chair of the Association of Surgical Care Practitioners, completing their term in April 2024. They now combine clinical practice with a part-time Lecturering role on the SCP MSc programme at Edge Hill University.

Frances Page is a Surgical Care Practitioner specialising in trauma and orthopaedics, and Programme Lead for Surgical Care Practice at Anglia Ruskin University. A dual-qualified RGN and RN (Child) with over 30 years of healthcare experience, Frances qualified as an SCP at Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Trust in 2015, completing her MSc in Surgical Care Practice at Anglia Ruskin University in 2017 and subsequently qualifying as a Non-Medical Prescriber. Appointed as Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University in 2019, Frances became Programme Lead for the MSc in Surgical Care Practice in 2024, building a specialist teaching faculty and contributing actively to the bi-collegiate SCP curriculum review.

I am an international medical graduate from India, completed my postgraduate training in the UK, with fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Europe and Asia. I have been a Consultant Surgeon for seventeen years and have been involved in surgical education and RCSEd activities at the regional, national, and international levels. I have held various positions within the college, and I see the next step as being a council member to serve the surgical needs nationally and globally. These are challenging times for healthcare professionals all over the world. Still, there is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively and in partnership with various organisations to ensure that the modern workforce is robust and competent to serve the population's needs, and I can support this process.

Sally qualified as a nurse from Sheffield and North Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery in Jan 1993. Having developed a keen interest in perioperative care during her pre-registration training and she spent the early part of her career working within all phases of surgical care, gaining experience in multiple specialties.

Her career moved into advanced perioperative practice in 2003 when she was appointed as a Surgical Care Practitioner in General Surgery at Salford Royal. Her main interest was developing laparoscopic colorectal surgery in the mid noughties.

Following the launch of the 2014 SCP curriculum she successfully completed the MSc in Surgical Care Practice at Edge Hill University. Sally’s experience in developing SCPs in both in practice and in the classroom led her to become a senior lecturer on the SCP programme at Edge Hill University in 2019 and in May 2021 become the programme’s lead. From this position she supported the development of the new bi-colligiate SCP curriculum and is in the process of revalidating the programme.

Professor Phil Turner, a specialist knee surgeon, has held prominent roles in surgical education, including Programme Director, Head of the School of Surgery (HENW), and Chair of national curriculum and training committees. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Salford, where has led major orthopaedic programmes in Manchester. A past President of the British Orthopaedic Association (2019), he also served as RCSEd Trustee and Council Member, Chairing its Professional Standards Committee and Joint Surgical Fellowship Board.
