James is a Professor of Dental Education and Restorative Dentistry based in the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff. James has been actively involved in the delivery of education for over 20 years - and was involved in the inaugural FDT Executive Committee and developing the original Standards for Dental Trainers.

Will has had a long history of working prominently within dental education in the UK sitting on many Royal College, COPDEND, Welsh Government, and National committees particularly in relation to specialty training and associated examinations.

Dr Richard Cure

Chair of the Dental Non-Technical Skills (DeNTS) and Human Factors in Dentistry (HFiD) Working Group (Dean Elect FDS)

Richard is a registered specialist in Orthodontics and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He is Associate Clinical Professor, Head of Dentistry Studies and Director of Orthodontics at The University of Warwick and Course Director of Orthodontics at Peninsula Dental School.

Mrs Kate Armstrong

Kate is an NHS Associate Dentist and Foundation Training Educational Supervisor at Billingham Dental in the northeast of England. An Associate member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers since 2018, she was awarded full Membership in 2024.

Emma has worked in dentistry for nearly 30 years, firstly as a Dental Nurse, then subsequently graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2001 with diplomas in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Emma obtained a BSc in Dental Studies for Dental Care Professionals from the University of Central Lancashire in 2015.

Surgeon Commander Graeme Bryce

Executive Committee Member

Graeme Bryce joined the Royal Navy Dental Service in 1999 on a Naval Cadetship whilst studying for a BDS at Glasgow University. In 2001 he completed All Arms Commando Course and subsequently served with 45 CDO and 40 CDO Royal Marine Units, deploying on multiple land and sea operations.

Stephanie began her career in dentistry as a trainee dental nurse, progressing to qualify as a dental hygienist and therapist before moving into education and leadership gaining qualifications in education and training, internal quality assurance, and strategic management and leadership.

Jonathan is a Senior Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield. Jonathan is particularly passionate about clinical skills teaching and simulation and leads numerous courses in this field.

Mr Zahid Raza

RCSEd Council Representative

Mr Zahid Raza is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. His particular interests include vascular access and open aortic surgery. He is the past Deputy Convenor of RCSEd Exams as well as the Regional Surgical Advisor for Edinburgh.
