The RCSEd UK & COMD Clinical Dental Skills Competition Grand Final took place on Thursday 26 March in Edinburgh, welcoming 16 final-year dental students from across the UK and Ireland. Each finalist represented the highest-performing student from their respective dental school, making reaching the final an outstanding achievement in itself.
Competitors were assessed across 9 stations designed to test both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. These stations included laparoscopy, suturing, anatomy, origami, oral health education (poster creation on tooth decay), orthodontics, implant dentistry, communication skills, and intraoral scanning. The overall standard demonstrated by participants was exceptional!
