We must support Younger Fellows through the transition to independent practice. The College has already developed numerous relevant resources, from training in Informed Consent in Surgery (ICONS) (1), to Making Sense of Mistakes (2), Training the Trainers (TTT) (3), and developing Surgical Leadership and Non-Technical Skills (NOTSS) (4). Alongside this, a Mentoring Training Programme (5) has been developed by a former Younger Fellows’ Group member, Emma Stapleton (now Editor of this fine publication, and member of Council). We aim to combine these resources into a bespoke package for Younger Fellows, with the added benefits of connecting YF with their own peers at similar career and life stages.
