Wessex FTSS presents: Life as a woman in surgery
25th May 2022, 19:00 to 20:00 BST
Join Southampton consultants for a short virtual seminar/Q&A on the benefits and challenges of life in a surgical career.
This talk will focus on their experience of surgical training as women and how they have approached their career pathway so far. If you are a budding surgeon with questions that you just haven’t been able to ask in clinic, theatre or on the ward round, then this is your opportunity!
This talk offers examples of life as a female surgeon in training, exploring hurdles/challenges and addressing any concerns/questions attendees may have about the training process.
By the end of this webinar, attendees should feel more confident with the overall structure of surgical training and have a better understanding of what life could be like as a trainee.
Our panellists include:
- Ms Nandita Pal, Consultant in vascular surgery
- Ms Joanne Round, Consultant in Orthopaedic surgery
- Dr Natalie Brown, Consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology
- Ms Francesca Stedman, Consultant in paediatric surgery
