In a landmark collaboration aimed at addressing the critical shortage of skilled surgical care in conflict and disaster zones, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) is teaming up with the David Nott Foundation (DNF) to later this year host their Hostile Environment Surgical Training UK (HEST-UK) course at the College in Edinburgh.

2024 Surgical Skills Competition Winners Announced!
The Surgical Skills Competition Grand Final took place at the College on Saturday 16 March. Students from 40 medical schools across the UK came together for a friendly competition to test their surgical skills.

Nominations Sought for College Council Vacancies

The Council of the College is seeking nominations for four vacancies which will arise on Council at the AGM in November 2020 when Mr W J R Currie, Mr T Graham, Mr S Gupta and Miss A Paisley will come to the end of their terms of office. Nominees must be Fellows of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in good standing with the College and the appropriate professional regulator.

RCSEd President Awarded BASO Lifetime Achievement Award

The College President Professor Michael Griffin has been awarded the British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO) Raven Lifetime Achievement Award at their November 2019 Conference. BASO - The Association for Cancer Surgery awarded the President last month in London.
New Dental Symposium coming to the College in March

The College is launching a new Symposium in March 2020, focusing on dental care for people with cancer.
