RCSEd is growing a network of Regional Advisers throughout the UK and internationally. Your Adviser acts as a conduit of information to and from the College and can provide support and guidance.
Graeme Hopper is an ST5 in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in the West of Scotland with a sub-speciality interest in sports injuries. He is the Hamilton Academical Football Club Doctor and Scotland U19/U21 Football Team Doctor. Graeme was elected to the Trainees’ Committee in March 2017. He is actively involved in research and will be going out of programme to work towards an MD in August 2017. Additionally, he is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, sitting on the MSK undergraduate committee, regularly teaching medical students and examining OSCEs. Furthermore, he is an e-tutor for the ESSQ MSc in Surgical Sciences.Graeme hopes to engage with trainees and provide a link to the RCSEd Council to ensure training needs are being met. He will liaise with the Education Department and aim to expand educational opportunities for members.
A Younger Fellow is defined as any surgeon who has obtained Fellowship within the last 10 years. The aim of the group is to facilitate younger surgeons of all disciplines and from all locations to socialise, get involved in College life and feedback their opinions on professional issues to Council.
The College has an elected SAS Member that sits on the College Council and also on the SAS Committee with a view to represent the views and requirements of our SAS membership, within the College and externally.
