The Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST) was created to promote and enhance the role of the surgical trainer. It is first of its kind in the UK and is here to support and develop surgeons in their role as surgical trainers, while promoting and upholding the highest standards of surgical training.
The Faculty is focused on driving the profile and recognition of surgical education and training and disseminating the message that excellent surgical training means excellent and safe patient care.

FST Conference 2026 - Registration

This one-day conference brings together a range of sessions designed for surgical trainers, offering updates on current training challenges alongside practical workshops with clear take-away tips that can be applied in the workplace.
FST Conference 2026 - Abstract Submission
Deadline: Sunday 8 February 2026
This conference is accepting abstracts for oral presentation. Those interested are invited to submit abstracts on surgical education and training.
Abstracts must be submitted by email to p.rafferty@rcsed.ac.uk.
