About the Faculty of Surgical Trainers
Surgical training has never been more demanding, with trainers expected to deliver high-quality education in less time, across more distributed environments. The Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST) was established to address this critical need.
The Faculty is the first of its kind in the UK, built specifically to professionalise the role of the surgical trainer and ensure it receives the recognition it merits. We set the standards that define excellent surgical training, provide education and development opportunities for trainers at every career stage, and convene a community of practice through events, webinars and our conference.
Our vision is that excellence in surgical training is an achievable aspiration for all, and that membership of the Faculty is universally recognised as a professional badge of honour.
