National Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication for His Majesty King Charles III

Today, the National Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication for His Majesty King Charles III took place in Edinburgh’s Old Town. Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla were presented with the Honours of Scotland during the service, which was held at St. Giles’ Cathedral.

RCSEd President Rowan Parks, who attended the service, commented:

It was a huge privilege to represent the College at this historic event and to celebrate our Patron, His Majesty King Charles III, receiving the Honours of Scotland alongside Her Majesty Queen Camilla.

Kirsty Mozolowski, RCSEd Trainees’ Committee member, was also in attendance to represent RCSEd in the People’s Procession. Kirsty shared:

Today was a memorable occasion, and it was an honour to participate in the People’s Procession whilst wearing the College crest.

Mr. Andy Kent, Deputy Chair of the Faculty of Remote, Rural & Humanitarian Healthcare was also recognised with honour of an OBE for his for his remarkable contributions to healthcare both overseas and throughout the pandemic. Andy, a distinguished trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Raigmore Hospital, has served in diverse, challenging locations, notably, his recent missions include aiding war-torn Ukraine and supporting global pandemic response.
