On behalf of the four Surgical Royal Colleges of the UK and Ireland, JCST are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to lead key areas of the JCST’s research work under the overall direction of the JCST Chair.
JCST Research Lead
The JCST is committed to developing, promoting and ensuring the highest possible standards of surgical training for the benefit of patients. A strong commitment to research focused on evaluating and improving surgical training is central to this aim. The Research Lead will provide clinical leadership for this activity, developing a JCST research strategy and overseeing its delivery in an agreed timeframe.
Applicants should be established academic clinicians with a proven track record of clinical research activity within surgery and specifically a strong track record in research using large data sets or ‘big data’. Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills are also essential.
