The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is proud to support our Members and Fellows in their research endeavours through a number of pump priming grants and research fellowships. Each funding opportunity aims to support not only the career of the individual but also the College’s vision to lead innovation in surgery and dentistry.

Wade Professor of Anatomy

The Wade Professor of Anatomy leads the development of anatomy education within surgery and healthcare training by working with RCSEd’s education directorate and by collaborating with anatomy centres across the UK. The Wade Professor of Anatomy also works to quality assess MRCS examination, develop and deliver anatomy courses at RCSEd and advise the College on anatomical health policies.

It is a great honour to be appointed Professor of Anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The College has a proud history and a distinctive contribution to anatomy education. I look forward to working with colleagues to build on this strong foundation, while exploring new and innovative ways to enhance learning, widen access, and support future generations of learners and professionals

Defence Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedics

Chair of Behavioural Sciences

The Chair of Behavioural Sciences works to support the NOTSS course by reviewing and developing the course, its handbooks and papers. The Chair works closely with RCSEd’s Faculties and Education Directorate to ensure all NOTSS materials are readily available and of the highest standard.
