The College encouraged applications from Fellows and Members of RCSEd in Good Standing in England and Wales. The awards were open to NHS consultant doctors and dentists on an NHS consultant or academic contract, who were registered on the GMC or GDC specialist list.

The awardee will receive a £50 national book token.

The Professor Jimmy James Prize celebrates the success of the highest scoring candidate undertaking the COSECSA Fellowship examination in Plastic Surgery each year.
The awardee will receive a COSECSA Medal, an RCSEd scroll and £500 to celebrate their success.
RCSEd is indebted to Mrs Judith James for establishing this prize in honour of her husband, Jimmy James, who was a founding Office Bearer of COSECSA and worked tirelessly to provide equitable access to reconstructive surgery in Africa throughout his lifetime.
Winning the Professor Jimmy James Prize has been a great milestone, reflecting the effort and hard work I have invested in my learning to excel in plastic surgery training and join the local team as a professional to improve service delivery in Uganda. Also, as a COSECSA-trained Plastic Surgeon, I have met colleagues throughout the region who share this passion for plastic surgery. I look forward to further networking with colleagues from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, becoming a stronger researcher, conducting outreach in this field and actively participating in training to close the gap in public access to plastic surgery in Uganda.

The Sushruta Guha Professorship in Plastic Surgery aspires to celebrate the career of a remarkable Plastic Surgeon by providing the opportunity to present at the ICOPLAST congress and receive the Sushruta Guha Medal along with a £1500 honorarium.
Applicants should be Consultants in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery who have untaken original research, practised leadership in their clinical role, and been peer reviewed in public forums. Ideally, those who apply should demonstrate an embodiment of Sushruta’s spirit of scholarship, leadership, stewardship and humanity.

The Lindsay Stewart Prize aims to recognise the success of those enrolled in the COSECSA Training Programme and provides funding to those who wish to present scientific papers at the COSECSA conference.
Awardees should be surgical trainees who do not hold a Consultant post.
The Lindsay Stewart Prize was established to recognise the contributions of Lindsay Stewart, and works in partnership with COSECSA.
