The Intercollegiate Surgical eLogbook is managed by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is a collaborative project of all three UK surgical Royal Colleges. The eLogbook has strong links to the Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST) and the specialty associations. It provides a lifetime service to surgeons of all grades and specialties, as well as a growing number of allied healthcare professionals and students.
We are currently inviting applications for the following role:
- eLogbook Clinical Lead
Interested applicants must be Fellows in good standing of one of the three UK surgical Royal Colleges; hold a substantive Consultant or SAS post in a surgical specialty; and use the eLogbook as a trainer or, ideally, a Training Programme Director.
The post will be overseen by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Vice President of Clinical Standards and Quality Assurance and report to the intercollegiate Planning and Review Group, which is a sub-committee of the Joint Surgical Colleges Meeting. The postholder will work closely with the College’s Digital Assurance and Analytics team, who develop and maintain the eLogbook software.
The post holder will chair the eLogbook Governance Group and oversee the eLogbook specialty leads, advise the Colleges on matters relating to the eLogbook and support the strategic development and running of the service.
Applications should be sent electronically to Mrs Irene MacDonald-Kennedy at i.macdonald-kennedy@rcsed.ac.uk to be received no later than Friday 13 February 2026 at 1600 hours.
Interview date to be confirmed.
