Faculty of Dental Surgery Vacancies

The College's Faculty of Dental Surgery promotes excellence in patient care by providing quality-assured assessments and facilitating high standards of education for members of the dental profession. Established in 1982, it is the largest of the College's faculties with almost 7,000 Fellows and Members worldwide and its own Council. The Dental Faculty's portfolio consists of a wide range of exams and courses held in 17 countries around the world.

We are currently recruiting for the following vacancies;


VACANCIES FOR MEMBERSHIP OF RCSEd DENTAL ADVISORY AND SPECIALTY ADVISORY BOARDS

The following AB/SABs are recruiting new members to take office from Autumn 2022:

• Restorative Dentistry
• Special Care Dentistry
• Paediatric Dentistry
• Implant Dentistry
• Dental Education
• MFDS
• Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine
• Primary Dental Care

These Boards support, advise and assist the Faculty’s Dental Council and Office Bearers in the promotion and maintenance of high standards of educational activity and examinations offered by the Faculty in relation to the specialty of the Board.
Successful applicants will be appointed for an initial term of three years and may be eligible for a further three years. To be considered for these roles applicants must submit a completed application form and two referee declaration forms.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ROLE OF CONVENER OF DENTAL EDUCATION

Applications are invited from Fellows of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in good standing with experience of education and training for the role of Convener of Dental Education commencing November 2022. The Convener plays a critical role in the strategic development of the Faculty’s education portfolio. Working directly with the Dental Executive, Dental Council and College staff, the Convener is responsible for developing the Faculty’s educational strategy, chairing the Advisory Board in Dental Education and providing clinical guidance and expertise to ensure that the Faculty remains at the forefront of dental education in terms of both standards and delivery.

The Convener is appointed for an initial term of three years. Full details of the role are included in the information sheet.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ROLE OF CHAIR OF SPECIALTY ADVISORY BOARD IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

The Faculty of Dental Surgery is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a suitable individual with appropriate specialty experience to chair its Specialty Advisory Board in Restorative Dentistry to be appointed for a three-year term.

REPRESENTATIVE REQUIRED TO SIT ON NES ADDITIONAL DENTAL SPECIALTIES SPECIALTY TRAINING COMMITTEE

NHS Education for Scotland is seeking an appropriately qualified representative of the RCSEd Faculty of Dental Surgery to join the Specialty Training Committee for Additional Dental Specialties. The additional specialties include Dental Maxillofacial Radiology, Oral Medicine, Oral Microbiology and Oral Pathology.
