Faculty of Dental Surgery Vacancies
The College's Faculty of Dental Surgery promotes excellence in patient care by providing quality-assured assessments and facilitating high standards of education for members of the dental profession. Established in 1982, it is the largest of the College's faculties with almost 7,000 Fellows and Members worldwide and its own Council. The Dental Faculty's portfolio consists of a wide range of exams and courses held in 17 countries around the world.
We are currently recruiting for the following vacancies:
VACANCIES FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE RESTORATIVE SPECIALTY ADVISORY BOARD
The Restorative Specialty Advisory Board (SAB) is constituted within the internal governance structure of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and exist primarily to support, advise and assist the Faculty’s Dental Council and Office Bearers in the promotion and maintenance of high standards of practice in relation to the specialty of the Board, particularly in the context of the educational activity and examinations offered by the Faculty.
The Restorative SAB is recruiting new members to take office from October 2022:
Applicants must be current Members or Fellows of the RCSEd Faculty of Dental Surgery in good standing. Experience indicates that applicants who are UK-based are likely to be best able to fulfill the requirements of the role, however, all valid nominations will be considered. In the case of SAB members who are based overseas, the expectation is that attendance at meetings shall normally be by virtual means.
The Restorative SAB normally meets twice per annum and participation may be either in person in Edinburgh or via remote digital means.
These roles are unremunerated but reasonable expenses for travel and subsistence will be reimbursed on production of receipts and appropriate claim forms. As with all travel on College business, SAB members will be expected to travel in accordance with the College Travel Policy.
Members are appointed for an initial term of three years and thereafter shall be eligible for reappointment for a further three years, subject to performance and at the discretion of Dental Council.
