Faculty of Dental Surgery Vacancies
The College's Faculty of Dental Surgery promotes excellence in patient care by providing quality-assured assessments and facilitating high standards of education for members of the dental profession. Established in 1982, it is the largest of the College's faculties with almost 7,000 Fellows and Members worldwide and its own Council. The Dental Faculty's portfolio consists of a wide range of exams and courses held in 17 countries around the world.
Nominations sought for elected Trainee Member of Dental Council
Nominations are now open to all UK-based Members of the Faculty of Dental Surgery who would like to be considered for election as the Trainee Member on the Dental Council of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. Nominees must be in good standing with the College and currently employed as a Dental Core Trainee (DCT Levels 2 to 3) or enrolled as a Specialty Registrar (StR Levels 1 to 4) on a dental specialty training programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent the views of trainees across all aspects of the Faculty’s activities including training, education and assessment and help shape the Faculty’s strategic direction. The Trainee Member attends meetings of the Dental Council and represents the Faculty on the RCSEd Trainees’ Committee.
The successful candidate will be co-opted to Dental Council for a two-year term from January 2024. Meetings are held approximately four times per year either online or in Edinburgh. The time commitment is estimated to be around 15 days per annum.

Call for Applications for The Role of Chair of Specialty Advisory Board in Restorative Dentistry
The Faculty of Dental Surgery is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a suitable individual with appropriate specialty experience to chair its Specialty Advisory Board in Restorative Dentistry to be appointed for a three-year term.

Vacancies For Membership of The Restorative Dentistry Specialty Advisory Board
The Restorative Dentistry Specialty Advisory Board supports, advises and assists the Faculty’s Dental Council and Office Bearers in the promotion and maintenance of high standards of educational activity and examinations offered by the Faculty in relation to the specialty of the Board.
Successful applicants will be appointed for an initial term of three years and may be eligible for a further three years. To be considered for these roles applicants must submit a completed application form and two referee declaration forms.
