Advances in Gynaecological Robotic Surgery: Platforms, training and benign gynaecology

12th September 2022, 19:00 to 20:00 BST

Overview

This webinar will give an overview of the development of robotic gynaecological surgery with introduction of some of the newer robotic platforms. There will be details of training for fellows and how they can become involved in robotic surgery and an example of how the robotic platform has benefited patients with endometriosis.

Aims

The aim of the webinar is to introduce fellows and consultant surgeons to gynaecological robotic surgery, explain how to become trained in robotic surgery and demonstrate how robotic surgery benefits patients.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar the participant should be able to understand the development and challenges faced by introducing robotic surgery in gynaecology. They should be able to talk about some of the recent advances in robotics and how artificial intelligence will aid surgeons and surgery in the future. The participant will be able to describe and engage in the learning pathway developed by BIARGS (British and Irish Assocation of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons). The participant will have an understanding of how robotic surgery particularly benefits patients with endometriosis.
