    Professor Philip Taylor

    Professor Philip Taylor is Emeritus Professor of Prosthodontics at QMUL where he was an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and former Clinical Director at Barts Health NHS Trust. He was a specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. Philip qualified in 1981 from Newcastle Dental School and spent 12 years in NHS general practice in the North East of England where he gained his MGDS. In 1993 he moved to London to begin his specialty training gaining his MSc at the Eastman alongside the MRD and FDS examinations. After spending seven years in a combination of private referral practice in the West End of London and as lecturer at QMUL he was promoted to consultant level in 2003 and Professor in 2016. He has been president of the British Society of Prosthodontics and the British Association of Teachers in Conservative Dentistry along with several examinerships and roles on national committees.

    Professor Helen Craddock

    Prof Helen Craddock is an Emeritus Professor in Dental Education and a former Chair of the Advisory Board in Primary Dental Care. A retired Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute, she has been a Member of the College since 1999 and a Fellow since 2003. Prior to her academic career, she spent 22 years in General Dental Practice.

    Dr Stewart C Barclay

    Dr Stewart C Barclay is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, recently retired from full time clinical activity, at Newcastle Dental Hospital, where he worked for over 24 years. During that time he has been heavily involved in postgraduate education and training, with roles as TPD for specialty trainees in Restorative Dentistry locally as well as 3 years as DCT Regional Adviser for HEE-NE, and a member of the SAC in Restorative Dentistry for 10 years, including being the lead for the first iterations of the curricula in Restorative Dentistry and the Monospecialties. He has been an examiner for the RCSEd MFDS since 2003 and for ISFE in Restorative Dentistry since 2008. He has been a member of RCSEd, holding DRD and MRD, since the early 1990’s.

    Dr Ian Corbett

    Dr Ian Corbett Is a consultant Oral Surgeon and honorary senior lecturer in Newcastle upon Tyne and has been a Member of the College since 2001 and a Fellow since 2010.  He is past Chair and continues to be a member of the Oral Surgery SAB. Ian has extensive experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate education and is an external examiner for the GDC

    Professor Brian Nattress

    Professor Brian R Nattress is a Professor in Restorative Dentistry and the Clinical Lead in the Translational Research Unit at the University of Leeds Dental School. He sits on the Speciality Advisory Boards in Restorative Dentistry and the Faculty of Dental Trainers.

    Dr Carole Boyle

    Dr Carole Ann Boyle is a Consultant and Clinical Lead for Sedation and Special Care Dentistry at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer. Carole is  a member of the Specialist Advisory Board in Oral Medicine & Special Care Dentistry, chairs the Speciality Advisory committee for SCD  and is the Co-Chair of the Tri-Collegiate Membership in Special Care Dentistry.

    Mr Andrew Baldwin

    Mr Andrew Baldwin is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and Divisional Clinical Director (Surgery) at North Manchester General Hospital. He has previously been an elected member on Council of BAOMS. Andrew has been a Fellow of the College since 1998. He is currently Chair of the Surgical Specialty Board for OMFS, and examines in the MFDS and MOMS examinations. 

  • Dr Toby Gillgrass

    Dr Toby Gillgrass  is a Consultant / Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Orthodontics at Glasgow Dental Hospital. He was formerly clinical lead for Cleft Care Scotland and chair of the Specialty Advisory Board in Orthodontics. He is a former recipient of the Deans Medal and a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers.

  • Professor Grant T McIntyre

    Professor Grant T McIntyre is Consultant Orthodontist at Dundee Dental Hospital. He holds the additional role of Enhanced Appraiser at NHS Tayside, Chaired NHS Tayside Integrated Dental Services Management Team from 2010-2011 and was Lead Consultant Orthodontist of the North of Scotland Regional Orthodontic Managed Clinical Network from 2008–2011.

  • Mr William S McLaughlin

    Mr William S McLaughlin is Hospital Dental Tutor (All Specialties) for Wales, Chairs the Welsh Restorative Dentistry Advisory Group and is Clinical Lead for Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital. He was Clinical Director for Cardiff Dental Hospital from 2010-2011.

  • Mr Joseph Noar

    Mr Joseph Noar has been a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 1994.  His clinical interests are in the fields of growth modification for dento-facial deformity; early interceptive treatments and multidisciplinary team working. He has been a teacher and trainer in orthodontics for many years. He is currently  Director of Clinical Governance of the BOS and have been an examiner for the MOrthRCSEd both in the UK and abroad for many years. He has been a fellow of the college since 2009.

    Professor Alison JE Qualtrough has a Chair at the University of Manchester. She is an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within Manchester Foundation Trust with leading education and clinical roles in restorative dentistry and endodontics. She is Chair of the Teachers of Endodontology Group, is on the GDC Specialist Advisory Committee in Restorative Dentistry and sits on the Specialist Advisory Board in Restorative Dentistry

    Dr Barry Quinn

    Dr Barry Quinn is Clinical Senior Lecturer in Simulation and Team-based Clinical Education and an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics, at King’s College London. Barry is a Past President of the Education Research Group of IADR 2018-2020 and the British Dental Association Metropolitan Branch as well as being an educational associate of the General Dental Council UK and an AMEE simulation committee member. Barry is the secretary general elect (2021) for the Association of Dental Education in Europe after having served as a councilor since 2016.

    Miss Rachael Jablonski

    Miss Rachael Jablonski is a Specialty Registrar in Restorative Dentistry at the Leeds Dental Institute. She is out of programme with an NIHR Doctoral Fellowship and is currently working towards her PhD. Rachael joined the Dental Council as the Trainees’ Representative in October 2019.

    Dr David Felix

    Dr David Felix is the Postgraduate Dental Dean Representative, who is an ex-officio member of Dental Council. He is Postgraduate Dental Dean for Scotland and currently Chair of the UK Committee of Postgraduate Dental Deans and Directors (COPDEND). He was elected to Dental Council in 1999 serving as Secretary from 1999 - 2005 and subsequently Dean of the Dental Faculty 2008 - 2011.

  • Lay Representative

    Mr Graham Balmforth

    Mr Graham G Balmforth is a Solicitor Advocate and Member of the English Bar. He specialises in medical law and represents the interests of Dental Clinics in various contentious issues, as well as individual medical professionals on issues of disciplinary and regulatory conduct. Mr Balmforth is a postgraduate student of medical forensic sciences at the University of Verona and lectures on issues of Human Tissue Law. 

  • Professor Ferranti Wong

    Professor Ferranti Wong is Professor/Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Barts and The London SMD, Queen Mary University of London. He is chair of SAB in Paed Dent and is programme director of DClinDent (PaedDent) at QMUL. He was past interim dean of the dental school and associated dean of the London Deanery.

  • Associate Professor Richard Cure

    Richard Cure is Associate Professor, Head of Orthodontics at The University of Warwick. He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers and a GDC Education Associate. He examines for the College at MOrth, MFDS and MAGDS.
