New Robotic Platforms and expanding horizons in Non-oncological Robotic Surgery

Overview

This webinar will include two presentations. The first by Prof. Subhash Khanna will be an “Introduction of newer Robotic platforms particularly the open platforms”. And the second presentation shall include “video clippings and discussions on expanding horizons and emerging indications of use of robotic technology in non-oncological surgery for general surgeons”. These will be followed by a panel discussion by the experts on training and credentialing of surgeons aspiring to take up Robotic surgery in their Surgical practice, and the setting up of a robotic surgery programme in a new place and centre.

  • Increase awareness of upcoming Robotic platforms.
  • Training and making a beginning in Robotic Surgery.
  • Expanding scope of Robotic Surgery- for general surgeons and setting up of a Robotic Surgery programme.

Dr Meenakshi Jain

Dr Meenakshi Jain is a board certified Ob/Gyn and is subspecialized in minimally invasive and Robotic surgery , She has successfully completed about 2700 Robotic surgeries in the last ten years and is a very busy solo gynecologist practicing in the St Petersburg, Florida area. She has lectured about the benefits of Robotic surgery all over the USA and abroad . She is a mentor and a proctor for the Epicenter at St Petersburg General Hospital , one of two Epicenters in Florida, where she teaches Robotics surgeons from all over the USA. She also is a mentor for "St Petersburg General hospital Surgical center of excellence program". She has been involved in starting many Gyn Robotic programs in India and has been a speaker in GOPIO, RCOG, Global health initiative conferences there.
