Vascular surgery and yoga for wellness
29th October 2021, 14:30 to 15:30 BST (19:00 - 20:00 IST)
The first talk in this session will cover renal replacement therapy, which is a major challenge for the surgical community globally. This talk will focus on the change from a 'fistula first’ approach to ‘what’s best for the patient’, which has had tangible benefits in the provision of a safe and effective renal replacement programme in South East Scotland, a service for a population of around a million.
The difficult time of the pandemic has increased stress levels for everyone, especially busy surgeons. The second talk will explore the potential of yoga to improve wellbeing. It will provide a roadmap for surgeons to indulge in yoga for wellness for some time every day to improve their overall physical, emotional, mental and spiritual performance.
- Improve the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease
- Improve Surgeons and their team performance.
By the end of this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Understand the benefits of a patient-centred approach to renal therapy.
- Describe and understand the benefits of yoga for stress reduction and improved wellbeing.
