Dr Conor McLister

Conor McLister is a Consultant / Honorary Clinical Lecturer and GDC Registered Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, School of Dentistry, Belfast.

Conor studied dentistry at Queen's University Belfast and was awarded the Irish Endodontic Society undergraduate prize in 2005. Following four years in general dental practice he commenced higher specialist training in Restorative Dentistry in 2013. He also completed postgraduate qualifications in Prosthodontics (Kings College London), Clinical Education and a MPhil research degree (Queen's University Belfast). In 2018 he successfully completed specialist training and was accepted onto the General Dental Council specialist list for Restorative Dentistry.

Conor is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, Belfast, and is a Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Queen's University, where he leads teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Conor has been a RCS Edinburgh MFDS examiner since 2016


Dr Gerry McKenna

Dr Gerry McKenna is a senior Lecturer / Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Queen's University in Belfast. He qualified in Newcastle in 2004 and after a number of hospital posts in Edinburgh and Dundee, he completed specialist training and a PhD in University College Cork in 2013.

Gerry is a principal investigator in the Centre for Public Health in Queen's University Belfast where he leads oral health research.  His main clinical and research interests centre around optimising the oral health of older patients and his work is supported by significant grant income from the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Dunhill Medical Trust.

Gerry is the current president of the Geriatric Oral Research Group (GORG) within the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and he is the past-president of both the European College of Gerodontology and the Irish Division of IADR.  Gerry has published widely in the scientific literature and his research has been rewarded with a number of prizes including the IADR Hatton Award, the ECG Research Award and the IADR GORG J Morita Award.

Gerry was a member of the Oral Health Policy group for the Republic of Ireland which developed the new National Oral Health Policy in 2019.  He is an adjunct Professor in University College Cork whilst also serving as Associate Editor of Gerodontology and as a member of the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Dentistry and Evidence Based Dentistry.
