Coming on 16/3/21 – The Manchester Foundation Surgical Society’s latest teaching session!

“Colorectal Surgery On Call” will be delivered by Mr Aidan Bannon, surgical registrar at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, and focus on foundation level assessment and management of acute colorectal presentations - a must for those rotating over to surgery in just a few weeks!

His last session was attended by doctors and students from across the UK and received excellent feedback.

Aims

This webinar will cover the essential assessment and management of common, acute colorectal surgical presentations. The talk will be directed purely at foundation year 1 and 2 level with a focus on out of hours/on-call presentations.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the webinar, participants should be familiar with common on call colorectal presentations, their relevant investigations and the essential management principles expected of a foundation doctor.

Panellists

Mr Aidan Bannon

Mr Aidan Bannon is currently a general surgical registrar at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. Hailing from Northern Ireland, he studied at Queen’s University Belfast and completed his basic surgical training in New Zealand. As a HEE fellow in Medical Leadership, he is passionate about teaching and quality improvement.
