Beyond Patient Safety: Training for the Future of Safe and Effective Surgical Care

This webinar will be exploring our understanding of “patient safety”, its evolution and the challenges that lie ahead. It will describe concepts that underpin safe and effective care and the relevance of effective teams in creating a safety culture in Surgery. The webinar will provide an overview of Human Factors or Ergonomics, “Systems Thinking” principles and share examples of its practical application in Surgery as well as its role in the design and delivery of good care, quality training and staff wellbeing. The session will also provide opportunities to review principles of team learning, system analysis tools and processes, that facilitates the design of resilient systems and support organisational learning.
