Experience with COVID-19 in Africa and The Middle East

Overview

The pandemic has been with us for the last seven months. The wave has been unpredictable with spread from the East to the West. Currently the United States, Latin America and India are reeling with widespread infection. Medical resources have been stretched to deal with the numbers of daily infections. The college with it’s global spread of International partners has reached out to share and learn from each other’s experiences.

Our invited panel will be discussing the effects of the pandemic and the response to it in Malawi, Oman and Sudan.

  • Dr. Faisal Alam, Sr. Consultant Vascular & General Surgeon in Muscat, Oman.
  • Professor Eric Borgstein, Professor of Surgery at the University of Malawi College of Medicine and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi.
  • Dr. Ahmed ElSayed, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Khartoum, Sudan.
