Professor Michael Griffin OBE, President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, said:
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who served our country and the Commonwealth with complete dedication throughout her lifetime. We look back on her remarkable reign with great pride and gratitude and join the rest of the world in mourning her loss."
