Surgical Specialty Board in Trauma and Orthopaedics Recruiting New Members

Surgical Specialty Boards (SSBs) of the College provide specialty specific conduits for advice and information between Fellows, College Council and the various specialty organisations.

The Trauma and Orthopaedics Surgical Specialty Board (SSB) is one of 11 SSBs whose remit is to ensure that the membership’s specialist surgical interests are represented within the college.

The SSB meets twice each year in Edinburgh although many members attend meetings via teleconference. Our work, however is broad based and undertaken in a variety of locations throughout the year. SSB members come from throughout the UK and work in the spectrum of trauma and orthopaedic specialties, with a wide range of other interests including medical education and research. Trainees are represented by the BOTA representative.

The College’s Surgical Specialty Board in Trauma and Orthopaedics is recruiting new members to take office in 2020. Members are appointed to serve a three-year term which, in some circumstances, may be extended for a further 12-month period.

If you would like to be considered for membership of the SSB in Trauma and Orthopaedics please send a letter, brief CV and the names to two referees to Lindsey Lawson, SSB Secretariat, e-mail: l.lawson@rcsed.ac.uk

Closing date for applications: Friday 24 April 2020
