Overview
Younger Fellows who are within 10 years of having obtained the FRCS are invited to attend an informal evening in London to meet with like-minded Fellows of any speciality. The evening is designed for you to socialise, network and discuss issues relevant to you as a Younger Fellow. As new and potential new consultants, we all share similar challenges on which we can work together while at the same time developing the non- technical skills required to enhance our surgical careers.
So what's stopping you? Come and join us for a drink, have something to eat, meet like-minded individuals and maybe even enjoy yourself!
Target Audience
ST7/8 Trainees, and Fellows within 10 years of obtaining their FRCS. Non-RCSEd Members and Fellows welcome.
Learning Style
This meeting will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, from 6-9pm and will be informal. Attendees are encouraged to dress down. It will mostly consist of open discussion and break-out sessions around some pre-determined topics signposting to information relating to professional issues.
Aims & Objectives
At the end of the evening, attendees will have met with like-minded peers and will understand commonalities of the highlights and difficulties of navigating a surgical career at Consultant level. There will also be practical advice on how to deal with common problems that Younger Fellows have to face.
