International Surgical Ambassadors (ISA's) in Africa

The College has International Surgical Ambassadors and Tutors based in Africa. Their role is to act as the representative of the College in their country or region. They can provide advice and guidance on:

  • Career development
  • Applying for and participating in RCSEd examinations and courses
  • Local contacts in the surgical profession
  • Access to RCSEd resources such as webinars or eLogbook
  • Professional updates and skills development
  • Local networking and events

Libya

Professor Ali Ibrahim Yahya – International Surgical Tutor
Professor Ali Ibrahim Yahya is a Professor of General surgery. He graduated from Alarab Medical School, Benghazi in 1986. He received his FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons. He has presented 45 scientific papers in surgical congresses worldwide, published two books, four chapters, and has 12 publications in journals. He is the Dean of the Libyan Postgraduate in General Surgery. He was Dean of Zliten Medical School from 2013 to 2018 and is the Director of Zliten Medical Center.
