Vacancy for Executive Committee Members of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers

The Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh was created to promote and enhance the role of the surgical trainer. The Faculty - the first of its kind in the UK - supports and develops surgeons in their role as educators, recognising that excellent surgical training leads to excellent and safe patient care.

With a diverse and growing membership spanning more than 30 countries, the Faculty works collaboratively with partners across the profession to drive innovation, share best practice, and recognise excellence in surgical training.

We are now inviting applications for Executive Committee Members to join our dynamic and dedicated committee. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the Faculty’s strategy and projects that shape the future of surgical education and training.

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience or interests in creating social media content and developing educational content, though all relevant backgrounds are warmly welcomed.

Executive Committee Members play a key role in advising the Chair and Faculty Team, contributing to projects and initiatives that advance the Faculty’s mission, and championing excellence in surgical education and training across the profession. This voluntary position includes reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses where required.

The role is open to current Associates, Members, and Fellows of the Faculty in good standing. We welcome applications from across all specialties and from individuals at a range of career stages who share our commitment to developing surgical training and education.
