Surgeons Quarter staff receive boost as living wage increase implemented

Surgeons Quarter is among the 9,000 UK businesses within the UK recognised as an accredited Living Wage employer. Living Wage employers voluntarily pay their staff a wage which meets the real cost of living and covers everyday needs.
An announcement made by the Living Wage Foundation on 15 November 2021 has resulted in over 300,000 employees receiving a pay boost with the real living wage increasing to £9.90 per hour. The Foundation recommends that employers should implement the rise as soon as possible and within six months.
Recognising the value of its staff, Surgeons Quarter made the decision to implement the wage increase with immediate effect on 15 November 2021.
The implementation of the Living Wage is part of a raft of measures which SQ has undertaken to ensure a nurturing and supportive environment for all staff.
Companies already accredited as Living Wage Employers include half of the FTSE 100 and big household names such as insurer Aviva, luxury goods brand Burberry and the Nationwide building society as well as hundreds of SME’s which recognise their staff as their most important asset.
