About the Role

The IISS team currently comprises seven members of staff.  The roles of these individuals encompass network and infrastructure management; information system, database and client/user services management (NSD section) and Audio-visual support and technical events solutions (AV section).  The IT department office administrator is based within the IISS section.   This section is managed by the IISS Manager.

Encompassed within the NSD team, the System Administrator role is primary focused around Line 1 and 2 support.  The postholder will report to the Infrastructure Engineer.

The team strive to continually improve the quality and level of services and support to college personnel, office-bearers, college members and other stakeholders. The team is involved in tasks and projects that are wide in scope and varied in nature and support both the commercial and non-commercial arms of the college.

There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills

This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is confident, methodical, organised and a conscientious problem solver.

You will have excellent communication and team working skills and bring a high level of professionalism to the role.

Good Educational Standards (HND or Degree level) or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar position is required.

The postholder will manage the user account lifecycle from creation to decommissioning as well as  user inductions and training.  The systems administration of many systems including IT asset database, waste management; Systems Helpdesk is required along with the management of application, OS and system updates.  The college has a M365 tenancy and utilises the M365 technology stack so the postholder will be more than familiar with some of these technologies such as Exchange Online, MS Teams; MS SharePoint etc.  The postholder will be involved in server migrations, server upgrades and many other related tasks.
