Regional Office Administrator (Fixed Term, 10 months)
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation concerned principally with the education, training and assessment of Surgeons, Dental Surgeons and Doctors who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Founded in 1505, the College currently has a membership of around 24,000 in approximately 100 countries throughout the world.
About the Role
The Regional Office Administrator will undertake a range of duties in RCSEd’s Centre of Operations in Birmingham to support the aims of improving the College’s engagement with its membership and stakeholders. In this role you will deal with enquiries (phone, email and in person), support the activities of the office, and attend external events, as required. The office activities will be meetings, educational courses, external events and visits from Members and Fellows or senior College staff.
Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) with a minimum Grade C in English, you will have good keyboard skills and experience of using IT systems efficiently and effectively including MS Word and Excel. Experience of standard office administration processes, such as producing correspondence, handling e-mails, phone calls and filing are essential. The ability to set up and use audio visual equipment and experience of minute taking are desirable.
You will possess excellent organisational, verbal and written skills and have the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and to tight deadlines. You will have a confident, conscientious and flexible approach to your work and the ability to prioritise day-to-day workloads under minimum supervision.
